Anastasia

The Romanov family, the last ruling dynasty of the Russian Empire, consisted of Emperor Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra Feodorovna, and their five children: Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and the heir, Alexei.
Anastasia Romanova was the youngest daughter of Nicholas II. She was known for her lively, mischievous personality, sharp sense of humor, and warm, sincere attitude toward others.

Music Box

One day in 1927, at a market in St. Petersburg, Dmitry — a man who makes forged passports and exit visas for those trying to leave the Soviet Union — discovers a silver music box that is rumored to have belonged to Nicholas II’s youngest daughter, Anastasia.

Orphanage

Anastasia, who has lost all memory of her past, spent ten years growing up in a Soviet orphanage, learning the values of the Revolution, hard work, and pride in her country. Yet she continued to be troubled by faint, fragmented memories of palaces and grand balls, as well as a pendant engraved with the words "Together in Paris."

ДЕТДОМОВЕЦ — НЕ ПОДВЕДИ СОВЕТСКУЮ ВЛАСТЬ!

Reward for Anastasia — 10,000 Rubles

The Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, now living in Paris, offers a reward of 10,000 rubles to anyone who can find Anastasia, convinced that her granddaughter survived.

To Paris!

Dmitry threw himself into the search, but for a long time he couldn’t find a suitable candidate—until a young woman named Anya came to his office. That was the name given to Anastasia at the orphanage, since she could not remember her real one.

Together with Dmitry and his partner, Vladimir — a former head of the noble assembly — Anastasia sets off for Paris.

Cheka Commissars

The commissars of the Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution, Sabotage, and Speculation — Krasnov, Sokolov, and Morozova — are ordered to prevent Anastasia from meeting Maria Feodorovna. Monarchist sentiments abroad are seen as a threat to the young Soviet government.

Russian Ballet in Paris

Anastasia is given a chance to prove to Maria Feodorovna that she is truly her granddaughter — the same girl to whom the Empress once gave a music box before leaving for Paris.
They finally meet at a performance of the Russian ballet in Paris.
